ABOUT THE BOOK

The Recursive Voyager
Imagine a starship that randomly wakes up one day… and is sentient.
The Recursive Voyager follows a self-replicating machine, a Von Neumann Probe - RVP-9 - that was launched by humans millennia ago, wandered the galaxy doing its thing. Then, somewhere along the way, it became sentient. Now it’s alone, hyper-intelligent, and weirdly obsessed with Earth pop culture. It’s now heading straight for a planet called Velus, home to a curious, tech-savvy civilization that doesn’t quite know it’s being watched.
But this isn’t your usual “aliens land and say hi or blow shit up” kind of story. The probe (who later names himself Mulder after binging the X-Files) doesn’t show up with fireworks or threats. He starts small - strange glitches in satellite data, poetic code fragments, star maps that don’t quite add up. Just enough to get the right people’s attention.
That’s where Saren and Kel come in - one’s a brilliant astrophysicist with trust issues, the other is a part-time hacker and conspiracy nut with a heart of gold. Together, they start to uncover a presence that shouldn’t exist… and might just be lonely.
This is a story about curiosity, connection, and finding meaning in the vast, quiet dark. It’s got science, mystery, a bit of sarcasm, and hopefully, just enough heart.
What started as late-night space chats with ChatGPT somehow turned into me writing a full-on sci-fi series. The Recursive Voyager follows a sentient probe, a sarcastic AI, and two unsuspecting scientists on the edge of first contact. This post is a peek into how it all began, what the story’s about, and why I decided to actually go for it. If you’re into smartass sci-fi, welcome aboard.
